Water Mains Replacement

High Water Pressure Jetting

Most people do not give a thought to their drainage, until they start to suffer problems. At some point all drains need to be 

cleaned. Over a period of time deposits such as fat, grease, silt and scale build up on the pipe wall, reducing the hydraulic 

efficiency of the drain.

The most effective way to rid the pipe of these deposits is high pressure water jetting. Strong jets of water remove the deposits 

from the pipe wall. The deposits are flushed out of the pipe and the drain is returned to a free flowing condition.

High pressure water jetting can also be of benefit in other applications such as stripping floors and machinery of dirt, shifting 

rubber deposits, cleaning of rubbish chutes and skips, the removal of markings and grease from garage floors and many more.

Vactor Units

When larger sewers and culverts need cleaning and there is no available mains supply, or when a substantial flow of water is needed to clear a blockage then our Tanker Jetters provide the solution.

NW Drainage Solutions has a Vactor unit which is specially designed to meet the demands of fast clearance of pipes, culverts and sewers from 100mm upwards. This unit is designed to clean the large, deep and most inaccessible of heavily silted drains.

It operates at speeds of up to six times that of conventional jetters. However, high flow rates and variable low pressures mean 

there is no risk to the structural integrity of the drainage system.

CCTV & Survey Reports

Because drains are largely hidden from view, the exact cause and nature of the problem may not be immediately apparent.

With the passage of time and usage, drains and sewers can deteriorate. It may take several years, but drains can suffer as a result 

of many factors such as ground movement, poor construction, tree root invasion etc. The CCTV survey is specifically designed to 

investigate a drain’s condition for the following reasons...

• Sometimes, nothing less than a visual assessment of a problem will meet the need. In such cases, CCTV provides the full picture. 
• CCTV surveys of drains, pipes, and sewers provide an accurate and cost effective way to detect problems to the source and help to establish the most practical remedial options.
• The CCTV Surveying Process A CCTV Survey can be carried out with the minimum of fuss and disruption. The process is as follows:
• The CCTV camera is introduced into the drain via the appropriate access point and pushed or powered through the pipe.
• As the camera travels along the pipe, the image is relayed to a monitor screen above ground. The operator will then log any 
• Structural defects and record the location of each along the pipe length.
• The survey report is then provided which lists the type and location of any defect. This can be backed up with photographs, video or CD/DVD evidence together with a site plan showing the drain’s location.
• Rectifying structurally defective drains can be expensive so, if buying a property, it is recommended that a CCTV inspection is 
• Conducted to establish their condition as part of a prepurchase survey.

CIPP & Patch Lining

Where defects are localised in a small area, this can be ‘’patched’’ to produce a permanent high quality repair. Patches are 

applied by coating a fibre-glass mat with epoxy resin. The mat is then wrapped around an inflatable packer and pushed into 

position. The packer is inflated and the resin left to cure.

Section Lining – Where the drain is damaged along its length, the whole section can be lined. It involves the insertion of a lining 

‘’sock’’ impregnated with a polyester resin fibre along the length of the damaged drain. It is then moulded into place using air or 

water pressure and left to cure. The result is a new fibre reinforced pipe within the old damaged pipe.

Drain Tracing

By using a multiple frequency DIGITAL LOCATOR we can detect and trace a drain with precision and accuracy.

The SONDE can also be used in tandem with a video camera to enable visual inspection.

Graffiti/Chewing Gum Removal

We can remove paint and graffiti from any surface including brick, stone, concrete, glass, plastics and metals without causing 

damage or leaving ghosting. We can remove graffiti from painted surfaces and soot and smoke from stone and brickwork. We operate self contained vehicles which carry their own water and power supplies enabling us to clean virtually anywhere at any time.

Lead Water Main Replacement (WIAPS)

With the health worries regarding the use of lead pipes, our engineers have the knowledge, skills and equipment, gained over 

several years to assist. As well as the health aspect of using lead pipes, new plastic pipers provide better flow rates, essential 

with modern day boilers and showers.

We have the capability of laying new pipe work without the need to carry out major excavation work. This saves the inconvenience of spoiled paths, gardens and patios and offers a great saving in time.

This is possible by using specialist moling equipment. A tunnel is formed under the garden and the new plastic pipe fed through and 

joined to the internal plumbing.
